Terms of service

These terms cover the App Shifter Android app, the pages on appshifter.ai and app.appshifter.ai, and the waitlist. They are an agreement between you and Paul & Simona ("App Shifter", "we"). By using App Shifter you agree to them. How we handle your data is in our privacy policy.

1. Who can use App Shifter

You must be at least 18 years old and sign in with your own Google account. While App Shifter is in a pilot, access may be limited to invited people or a limited number of accounts, and we may change who can sign in.

2. What App Shifter does

App Shifter uses AI models to turn your descriptions into small apps that run on your phone, and lets you change them, share them and use apps other people published. Generated apps are made automatically. They may contain mistakes, may not do exactly what you asked, and a new version may not keep using all of the data you entered in an earlier one. Don't rely on an app for anything where a mistake could cause harm, such as medical, financial, legal or safety decisions.

3. Your content

Your prompts and the apps you create remain yours as far as the law allows. You give us the permission we need to run the service: to store your prompts and apps, send your prompts to AI providers to generate apps, and, when you share or publish an app, to show it and let others install it and shift copies of it. People who install your app keep their copy even if you later change, hide or delete the original. What you enter inside your apps stays on your phone; we don't receive it.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use App Shifter to create, share or publish anything that is illegal, harmful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, deceptive (including apps that imitate a real company or collect passwords or payment details), or that infringes someone else's rights. Don't try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service, or access other people's accounts or data.

5. Reports and removal

Anyone can report an app from inside App Shifter. We may hide, make private or remove apps, and suspend or close accounts, that break these terms or put others at risk, with or without notice.

6. Limits and changes

App Shifter gives each account a weekly number of generations, which we may change. App Shifter is free during the pilot. If we ever introduce paid features, we will tell you before anything costs money. We may change, pause or stop parts of the service.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (profile photo, then Delete account) or by following the steps on our account deletion page. What is removed and what is kept is described there and in the privacy policy.

8. No warranty

App Shifter is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by apps generated, shared or installed through App Shifter. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use App Shifter after that means you accept the new terms.
