Privacy policy
Last updated 4 October 2026.
This policy covers the App Shifter Android app, the website appshifter.ai with its waitlist, and the pages on app.appshifter.ai. App Shifter is operated by Paul & Simona (the developer account shown on Google Play) and is for adults (18+).
1. What stays on your phone
Everything you enter inside your apps (lists, notes, scores, settings) is saved on your phone only. It is never sent to our servers. If Android backup is on, Android may include it in your own Google backup, under your control.
2. What we store
- Your Google account basics, from Google sign-in: name, email address, profile photo and Google account ID. We use them to sign you in, check your invite and show your name on apps you publish.
- Your prompts and the apps made from them: the sentences you type to create, change or shift an app, and each generated version. Prompts are visible only to you and to the pilot admins.
- Activity in App Shifter: which apps you installed, liked or reported (with the reason you give), and your generation counts for the weekly limit.
- Sign-in sessions, so you stay signed in. They expire after 90 days without use.
The app has no ads and no analytics or tracking tools, and we never sell your data.
3. The website and the waitlist
- Waitlist: if you join it on appshifter.ai, we store your email address, the app idea you typed (if any), which page and campaign link you came from, your browser language and country (from your connection, not your exact location), the date, and the version of the consent you gave. We use it only to email you about joining App Shifter and its launch. We keep it until App Shifter is open to everyone and you have been told, or until you ask us to remove it: email us from that address and we delete it.
- Bot check: the waitlist form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. It processes technical signals from your browser for that check only.
- Visit counts: the website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
The website sets no cookies.
4. What other people see
Apps are private until you share them. If you share an app by link or publish it to the gallery, people can see its name, icon, description and your display name, and run it. They never see your prompts or what you entered inside the app.
5. Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare hosts the service and stores the data above. It handles your IP address to deliver requests; we don't keep IP addresses.
- AI model providers (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI, Alibaba Cloud or DeepSeek, depending on the model in use) receive your prompt and the app's code to generate the app. They don't receive your name, email or the data you enter inside apps.
- Google handles sign-in.
- Cloudflare Turnstile and Web Analytics run on appshifter.ai, as described above.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
6. Deleting your account
In the app, tap your profile photo, then Delete account. Without the app, see how to delete your account. Deleting removes your name, email, photo and Google link, your apps and your sign-ins. Copies of your apps that others installed keep working (shown as by "Deleted user"), your apps' prompts and code stay in our records no longer linked to you, likes and installs count anonymously, and your email stays on the invite list until you ask us to remove it.
7. Children
App Shifter is for people 18 and over and isn't directed at children.
8. Changes and contact
We'll update this page if anything changes. Questions or requests: support@appshifter.ai, or see Contact.
